City of the Great Machine is a strategy game set in a grim, technocratic Victorian steampunk world. The game pits the Great Machine, an A.I. ruling a City built on mobile sky platforms, against an alliance of Heroes leading a revolution.

Being controlled by a human player or ran automatically (this radically changes the gameplay), the Great Machine commands perfected Servants and mechanical Guards to suppress unrest in the City and complete its grandiose Master Plan to “perfect” humanity. For their part, the Heroes work together to stir discontent, rally famous citizens, incite riots, and stop the Master Plan before it enslaves the mankind.

Now, the City is changing. A new expansion is on the way, and it’s the most ambitious chapter yet.

The Story Unfolds is more than your ordinary expansion: It’s a full system upgrade that redefines City of the Great Machine. It upgrades the base game to version 1.5, introduces an immersive narrative campaign, adds new ways to play, and expands the City with new scenarios, modules, and strategic possibilities.
